Texas Wiffle Ball League Player Code of Conduct Policy 

Introduction 

The Texas Wiffle Ball League is committed to providing a safe and respectful environment for all participants, including players and spectators. This Code of Conduct outlines the expected behaviors and responsibilities of all players participating in the league. By participating in the Texas Wiffle Ball League, players agree to abide by this Code of Conduct and acknowledge that failure to comply may result in disciplinary actions, up to and including dismissal from the league. 

General Behavior 

Respect: Players must show respect towards all individuals involved in the league, including teammates, opponents, coaches, officials, and spectators. Disrespectful behavior, including bullying, harassment, or use of derogatory language, is strictly prohibited. 

Sportsmanship: Players are expected to exhibit good sportsmanship at all times, both on and off the field. This includes shaking hands with opponents after games, applauding good play, and maintaining a positive attitude. 

Safety: Players should prioritize safety above all and refrain from actions that could endanger themselves or others. This includes adhering to any equipment requirements and avoiding physical altercations.

Disciplinary Actions 

Warning: Any player found to be in violation of the Code of Conduct will receive a written warning from the commissioner or designated league official. The warning will detail the nature of the violation and the expectations for future behavior. 

Dismissal: Should a player who has previously received a warning violate the Code of Conduct again, the commissioner reserves the right to dismiss the player from the league. The decision to dismiss will be communicated in writing, outlining the reasons for dismissal and the process for appeal, if applicable. 

Appeal Process

Players who have been dismissed from the league have the right to appeal the decision. Appeals must be submitted in writing to the league commissioner within 7 days of dismissal notification. The appeal will be reviewed by a committee appointed by the commissioner, and a final decision will be made within 7 days of receiving the appeal.

Texas Wiffle Ball League Participation Waiver and Release of Liability

In consideration of being allowed to participate in any way in the Texas Wiffle Ball League and related events and activities, I, the undersigned, acknowledge, appreciate, and agree that:

Risk of Injury: I understand that the sport of wiffle ball involves physical activity and carries with it the potential for serious injury, disability, and property loss. The risks include, but are not limited to, those caused by terrain, facilities, temperature, weather, condition of athletes, equipment, lack of hydration, and actions of other people including, but not limited to, participants, volunteers, spectators, and league officials. I hereby assume all of the risks of participating in any/all activities associated with the Texas Wiffle Ball League.

Physical Fitness: I attest that I am physically fit and have not been advised otherwise by a qualified medical person.

Waiver, Release, and Indemnity: I hereby take action for myself, my executors, administrators, heirs, next of kin, successors, and assigns as follows:

A. I WAIVE, RELEASE, AND DISCHARGE from any and all liability for my death, disability, personal injury, property damage, property theft, or actions of any kind which may hereafter occur to me including my traveling to and from this event, THE FOLLOWING ENTITIES OR PERSONS: Texas Wiffle Ball League and/or their directors, officers, employees, volunteers, representatives, and agents, the event holders, event sponsors, event directors, event volunteers;

B. I INDEMNIFY, HOLD HARMLESS, AND PROMISE NOT TO SUE the entities or persons mentioned in this paragraph from any and all liabilities or claims made as a result of participation in this activity or event, whether caused by the negligence of release or otherwise.

Medical Consideration: I consent to receive medical treatment which may be deemed advisable in the event of injury, accident, and/or illness during this event.

Severability: I hereby agree that if any portion of this agreement is held to be invalid the balance, notwithstanding, shall continue in full force and effect.
